As an EPiMore Partner Findwise has developed a Search Connector for EPiServer. This EPiServer connector understands EPiServer and is well integrated with EPiServer’s internal API via a web service. This enables it to make incremental updates (at a rate chosen by an administrator) of only those pages that have been changed since the last update.

Every page in EPiServer is built from a well defined template which defines what text and metadata a page consists of. The EPiServer connector offers a way to map a template’s metadata fields to fields in the search engine thereby making it possible to index different metadata for different page types. This fine grained level of control builds the potential for greater findability in your organization.

EPiServer is not only used as a portal, but also a content management system. The EPiServer connector is built to index pages as well as all documents that are linked from these pages.

Often an EPiServer site has support for multiple languages. With the EPiServer connector an administrator may specify which languages should be fetched from the EPiServer and indexed in the search engine.
